Constantinople, 1453
“Barely you shall conquer Constantinople, what a wonderful leader would he be, what a wonderful army will that army be,” Those words were spoken by prophet Mohammed and were heard for the first time by me when I was at a very young age through my Islamic tutor. Those words influenced me throughout my life and woke me to a desire to take over and conquer Constantinople. Few days after I took the throne again in 1451, I began my preparation to attack the city of Constantinople, for the first time I did military campaigns, and eventually won it. I also gained control of massive cannons produced by Hungarian engineers. During this time, Constantine XI saw this and started to worry and requested help from his allies, but they barely sent him any army. He also started to send me offers to come to an agreement, but I rejected them, I already had my mind settled. After two years of preparation, I, Mehmed II began the siege, on the day of April 6, 1453. I stood in front of the Constantinople walls and said “Hey Constantinople! Either I take you, or you take me! For over two months I attacked their walls with the cannons I received from the Hungarians, but their walls would not fall. My morale started to fall, Candarli Halil told me to lift up the armies and leave, but my tutor and my army advisor motivated me to continue, they probably saw something I did not during the battle that made them think we could win. I ordered my soldiers to bring the ships to our location for one last attack, with gunpowder and the army finally took down the Byzantine walls, and took over Constantinople, Constantine XI fought as a real man to the very end, in which he died, giving us victory. I ruled over Constantine people and created a diverse and working society and after all, I fulfilled my desires.
